Not worth responding to BN over PM choice, says Anwar

Pakatan Rakyat’s prime ministerial candidate is never a concern, according to parliamentary opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

“I don’t see not announcing the prime ministerial candidate as a problem to people,” he told a press conference today.

Anwar said that it was more important to focus on PR's manifesto launched yesterday, which centres on empowerment of the people and increasing monthly income during its first term in the Federal seat.

On BN’s allegation that PR could not agree on a choice of prime minister,  Anwar said it was not worth responding.

“Will BN announce their PM candidate when it presents the manifesto? During the 2008 election, was Khalid (Ibrahim) announced as the candidate for Selangor Menteri Besar?” asked the PKR de facto leader.

BN-controlled media have claimed that PAS has not agreed to Anwar as the prime minister’s candidate.

PAS information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man meanwhile dismissed rumours that Gua Musang member of parliament Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah had been named as a PM candidate.

PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu said the PM-to-be will be made public at the right time.
