Already unhappy with Malaysia Airlines (MAS) over its handling of the crisis involving missing passenger jet MH370, the families of the Chinese passengers are now fuming after being sent to India instead of Kuala Lumpur.

The airline reportedly messed up in transit at the Hong Kong International Airport and flew the families, who are anxious to learn about what happened to their relatives onboard the plane, to India, according to Singapore online media site STOMP.

MAS had offered to send two relatives of each Chinese passenger to Kuala Lumpur, where they can stay and wait for news.

Taiwanese news programme CitTV reported yesterday that 90% of the families did not take up the offer, as they were less than impressed with MAS' way of handling the situation since the plane disappeared.

The families have been unhappy with the lack of information and conclusive answers about the missing plane and passengers since the incident on Saturday.

They were sceptical of what they could achieve by traveling all the way to Malaysia when the press conferences in Beijing had given them no information about their missing loved ones.
For the 10% that decided to take up MAS' offer to go to Kuala Lumpur, they received a rude shock when they ended up in India.

The missing MAS flight MH370 flew from KLIA early Saturday morning with 227 passengers of 14 nationalities and an all-Malaysian crew of 12 onboard. It never reached its destination, Beijing.

Chinese nationals made up the majority on the plane with 153 people. The fate of the plane and all its passengers remain unknown as search and rescue operations continue in the South China Sea, the Strait of Malacca and the Andaman Sea. – March 12, 2014.
