MAS should replace Jauhari

mas_300KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Airlines System Employees Union (Maseu) today renewed its call for the resignation of the top management of the troubled national airline.
Maseu Executive Secretary Mohd Jabbarullah Abd Kadir said, “We’ve made it very clear, we will support a new team that has the aviation knowledge and integrity for the job.”
“Ahmad Jauhari has had three years to turn things around,” he said, referring to the CEO of MAS.
Maseu has in the past also called for MAS Director of Engineering Azhari Dahlan and MAS Director of Human Resources Zaharah Zaid to leave as well.
Previous attempts to restructure the airline have been met with resistance by the union, citing fear of job losses of its members.
Khazanah Nasional, which owns 70% of the flag-carrier, said today it would buy all minority shares and finalise a restructuring plan by the end of the month.
MAS and its major stakeholders are currently discussing plans of action that may include upgrades to its ageing fleet and partial sale of its engineering unit, according to Reuters.
