Haze returns to Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: The haze problem has returned as can be seen here in the photograph that was taken in Petaling Jaya.
However the Department of Environment’s (DOE) readings through its air pollutant index (API) indicate that the haze levels to be generally moderate nationwide with readings between 31 to 95.
The air pollutant index classifies readings from 0 to 50 as good, 51 to 100 as moderate, 101 to 200 as unhealthy, 201 to 300 as very unhealthy and readings of 301 and above as dangerous.
Three major towns in Johor and Melaka recorded readings that are unhealthy.
The API reading for Muar in Johor rose from 108 at 7am this morning to 127 at 11am. There is an increase in API reading in Pasir Gudang from 100 to 103.
The API readings for Melaka City changed from moderate to unhealthy in a span of four hours. The readings at 7am was 95 and as of 11am is 101.
No API readings were recorded in Kangar and the lowest API readings of 33 as of 11am was recorded in Tawau, Sabah.
